This is the best necklace EVER. Hands down. From Anthropologie as well. I adore the sequins and the trinkets and bables and things. It's just so amazingly crafted and beautiful. These news reports about the swine flu is making me paranoid. Sometimes the news can be so contriving and is a definate way of spreading fear all around. Maybe we do have something to fear, maybe not. Anyhow, I like the most glorious of sunny days. I'm hoping to go thrifting this weekend at a bunch of vintage shops I haven't been to in a while. Super busy next week and I can't wait to see FOB on Tuesday. I hope to get to reply to your comments this weekend but as much as I love blogging, I just don't have the time right now. Enjoy your Wednesdays. We're almost over the hump of the week!

Some days are hard to get through. I feel like good photography isn't about technicalities. My favourites do not usually work in a studio and use their surroundings to their advantage. Tomorrow will be better, I tell myself. Sunny as hell today but sometimes the sun doesn't match my mood. Thank you all so much for still reading this blog. I feel disconnected because I don't have time to talk to you all and I wish I did but life gets in the way of things. Hopefully, everything's well.

I'm not a big fan of this band but they are playing with Fall Out Boy in a couple of weeks which I'm going to. Pysched.
Edit: The Asian girl here is NOT me. These two kids are just my good friends. I don't think I could ever be so comfortable infront of the camera. I'm behind it, just so you know.

I recently saw the BBC adaptation of Jane Eyre as well as Crash today and let me tell you, they are equally amazing. I really want to see The Soloist sometime because its by Joe Wright, another of my favourite directors. He really knows how to use his light and setting to create a mood that is compelling to the viewer. I loved Atonement and Pride & Prejudice, of which he directed before. I'm also SOOOO excited for Harry Potter 6, The Lovely Bones, Angels & Demons and the Time Traveler's Wife, all amazing books with great directors attached to make the adaptation. SO EXCITED! I'm also soo excited to see what Ellen Page will make of Jane Eyre in yet another adaption. The book makes me positively giddy! It is so romantic and Mr. Rochester...OH! OH yeah, and I think Michel Gondry should make more movies. I love his body of work.
I know this post has a lot of loooooove from me but this is one of those songs that just makes you feel nostalgic and year for youth.
I feel like the person who made this video read my mind. It shows clips from an amazing assortment of movies that happen to my favourites including The Science of Sleep, American Beauty, Amelie and Almost Famous.

Epic Kingdom of Awesome

Haha, so I got this amazzzingly RIDIC jacket from VV a couple of weeks ago and S keeps telling me that is is rediculous to wear out. Personally, I think its mad-rad and reminiscent of Decarnin for Balmain. Not that that's the only reason I like it but it's a sparkled sequin mess and my shiny stuff collection is DEF growing. I'll be sure to take a picture of some of the amazing things I got at Anthropologie, in cluding the radest necklace that ever existed. This is however the radest JACKET that's ever existed. Prepare yourself for something legen...wait for it...DARY! All kidding aside, today was a great day but I am sure tomorrow will be more beautiful as the sun is finally deciding to poke its head out. Love you all! Did I mention its made of velvet and adorned with endless amounts of spackles? Well, it is. Btw this is my no-makeup stay at home face. Chill.

I am always happy on sunny days and life's too beautiful to go to waste groaning about all the sad and bad things. I hate reading the newspaper personally because I feel like the reportage is only really about negative things. Maybe if people weren't so despondant and hopeless there wouldn't be this recession thing but maybe I'm just a dumb teenage girl full of naiviety. I listened to this amazing song I found on Behind the Seams called Just Impolite. A simple tune that I cannot stop listening to, the woes of love and when you first fall in love. I know the blogworld isn't great for personal info but how did you un-single people know that the person you are with now is right for you? Do you ever know? Hah, serious aside, I screamed when I saw my friend's skirt. I wanted to get it at UO but guess I can't now! The picture of the girl with the sunglasses is one of my favourite that I've taken in a while especially because you can see my odd camera face in the reflection. Ha. Sorry for the lack of comments again on your blogs, I have a LOT of unread posts on bloglovin' and I am soo tired from work and busy-ness.

I don't want to fall in love, I just wanna catch your eye

I appreciate so much your humble thoughts about the photography and I'm glad some of you enjoy my rants. I just think life is too beautiful to go through without being truly passionate about something and diving yourself into work you love. S always tells me to to slow down sometimes she fears I will be a workaholic when I'm older. Anyhow, I was stuck at work the entire day but I'm beginning to love it. I'm definately happy I quit my last job because I now love the people I get to be around. Anyhow, a reminder to you all to check out Anthropologie at Don Mills Centre opening this Wednesday in Toronto, trust me, you will LOVE this store. My feet ache and I have a million errands to run and projects to attend to so I'll be busy for at least a couple of days. See you soon.
I'm usually a portrait taker but I quite adore (no arogance intended) these shots I did last week while visiting an awesome park. K made me exercise and in turn I had to buy my good friends food. It was fun nevertheless. The best advice anyone has given me about photography or drawing or painting is to photograph, draw and paint.

Melted Toblerone under your dress, Blue mascara running over your eye

In photography, what I find most fullfilling is making people feel comfortable. When I first take pictures of them, they are reluctant and like many people hide their faces as I do bring my camera close sometimes. It's nice though after a while, they start to trust you and the lens and allows themselves to be themselves and act normal. The candid moments in everyday life are the most beautiful and worth remembering. With everyone, the thing I like to do best is find what works for them and make them feel beautiful in their own skin. Even though I may never end up doing this professionally, photography is a great way to remember life, finding the beauty in the mudane and remembering everyday. At the end of the year, I'll look through Project 356 (I've only missed 3 or 4 days so far!) and remember all the charming smiles, laughter and good friends, fashion and food and review a wonderous year.

This is my casual outfit. I kind of threw it on when we went on our thrifting extravaganza. I especially love prancing around Value Village because no one cares there! There are no pesky sales persons, they just leave you to your business. There was an extreme moment of hilarity when I was trying on a child's dress that was Luella-esque and had sooooo much difficulty taking it off. Sheilla had to wrestle me and I even considered cutting the seams, it was that bad. Sadly, I did not take it home but it was such a darling pretty thing. I'll show more of my awesome buys later. Winners shirt, Gap shirt underneath, Aldo bag, AA skirt, thrifted scarf, belt, shoes

Life IS beautiful. You just have to find it.

Guy Aroch is definately one of my all time favourite photographers. His images evoke a sense of candidness and it's always as though he is observing his subjects from far away. The models are never super aware of the camera and seem to be carrying on their fabulous lives without taking a notice of his camera. There are few things that I love more than truth and honesty and although it is an absurd truth with fantastical elements, there is a great sense of relation between him and his girls. Don't know if you understood my rant about his photos but I adore his sense of light, colours and the combination of soft and hard light. I also adore how he shoots outside of a studio. If I were ever to be a photographer, I would hate shooting in the studio, standing against a blank background. There is nothing more enchanting than working with the natural lights of the day and finding obscure areas that one would not think is particularly beautiful (such as a hotel room) and finding something beautiful about it. And his subjects, their alive and they are real. I hate how sometimes heavy makeup and harsh styling combined with edgy photography can really ugly a pretty girl. It transforms her in a strange way and everything about the shoot is not relatable to me. His photos tell stories of girls falling in love at dawn with a stranger, swimming in a pool, walking across a road wearing a gown and lounging around in the sauna. It is a heightened reality but one that is different from huge novelties and great big transformations because it emotes.

I am sooo tired right now but here's what I wore today. I went on a thrifting extravaganza on the weekend and got some amazingly ridiculously things, as termed by S. Including a bunch of sequiny things that I've been looking for foreeeverrr. Including this vest. Of. Awesome. I really need to get my hair but but I have no idea how. Suggestions? Anyhow, these are my awesometastic new boots that I adore and will wear around everywhere. Le Chateau blouse, Hemmed Costa Blanca trench coat, Walmart tights. Some of you guys asked about those black tights I wore in that black zipper dress post...the truth is, they are little girl tights I skimped money on because girl tights are cheaper than woman tights. And they don't really fit me properly which means I sort of had to stretch them out an ridiculous amount and that's why they look like mesh tights, so to speak. This has been a fun Wednesday, for a change.
This song makes me smile. We're never really happy with who we are and the grass is always supposedly greener. I'm sure most of us wish we were taller, prettier, thinner but at the end of the day, being happy and being me is all that matters. But I should really start exercising because I climbed a hill this weekend...and was out of breathe, really out of breathe. GAH.

As the blog name suggests, these new shoes are super hard to walk in. They also feel like my feet are being sucked into a space vacuum so that I can no longer feel them. They are pretty though, aren't they. I watched How I Met Your Mother yesterday and it was hilarious beyond relief, especially because of Neil. I know I rant about this show way too much but it is just legen...wait for it...dary. This week is one day short and I'm happppy about it. Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday and yesterday I went to a park to take tons of pictures that will be posted up soon. Excuse my awkwardness in these pictures. I was trying HARD not to fall.

I'm in a hugggeee rush to get to work as I'm a tad bit late but here's the silk dress with the zipper down the front I picked up a few weeks earlier. I think I love it. Too bad the black doesn't show up well on camera though. Sucks. Have a great Sunday! Nine West Heels, Aldo bag.
Edit: My dress is from some odd brand called Delicious and was thrifted but there's a couple of dresses from Urban Outfitters right now that resemble it greatly. Here and here.

Wow, I really haven't been updating this blog properly and I really apologize for that. Today's such a lovely day so I'll probably take some awesome outfit pictures today. Meanwhile, here's the second set of photos that I took a long while ago. I watched The Matrix finally and to say the least, I did not like it. Memento's another really interesting film but confusing as hell. I'll probably have to end up watching it many times in order to understand it completely. Can you imagine what it would be like not remembering what happened in the last few minutes? That's what this guy's life is like. Went to work yesterday and I'm already planning what to buy as soon as Anthropologie opens. I can't wait!

Have you ever fall in love with a completely and total stranger? Just a contemplative question. Today was some fun times taking pictures around the school for yearbook and meeting new and random people. I cannot wait for summer and I wish this girl was still in Skins. She is so perfectly complex and lovely and dresses in the most darling clothes. Her wardrobe on Skins is an extension of herself and although she was on the show quite a while ago (I'm late on things), I can still look to these screenshots and be inspired by her Lolita-like nature and quirky dress choices. She also speaks in the most delightful manner, emotions lurking beneath the surface but always charming and sweet. How she fell for a guy like Sid, I know not of. Today, I wish I looked like her, decked out in Luella and full of colours and spring. I promise to get better outfit pictures soon as I hear it will be 7 degrees tomorrow. WOW! That's A LOT. Not.

I also need this shirt in my life, right now, but better designed with a nicer font.

Everyday we wake up, We choose love, We choose light

Hey Guys, sorry for the sorry state of the blog and my bad job in updating and commenting on your blogs. I feel utterly gross due to the horrible weather that I've been seeing for the past couple of days. There is snow on the ground. In April. That's Canada for you, a slew of random and irregularities. This means that I refuse to take off my coat and go outside to take outfit pictures which means I have to use some sort of shitty flash photography indoors. Not that I hate flash but it really blows away details. This is another of those things that I sort of regret buying. The sleeves really bother me and I might cut them off and make it into a stretchy knit dress by stretching it a LOT. And maybe use the sleeves as tools for attacking annoying people, hah. I hope it's sunny where you live because I sure as hell am moving out of Canada as soon as I can. I'm not really Canadian in most aspects, my niceness is not overt, I do not enjoy Rick Mercer and I do not play hockey. But that's just stereotypes talking, I do however, enjoy Tim Hortons immensely. I promise to make better posts as soon as the weather gets nicer. I feel uninspired when there is no sun out.

Whazam! I'm tired now after messing around on photoshop for an hour, trying to make a new header. So...do you like it? Headers are problematic since my computer screen is ginormous but I'm not sure if everyone else sees it the same way I do so I apologize if you have to scroll horizontally, which acording to Shini is not a good thing to do! :) Also, my jump shots, are they annoying? They are a whole lot of fun for me to take and plus, it's like a free leg lift, longer and thinner without having to walk in heels all day. Ah, haha, sorry for the bad posting this weekend, busy busy busy. Started orientation and I'm looking to see if there are more sunny day for me to take outfit pictures. I'm waiting desperately for someone to put Picture Me on the interweb so I can WATCH it! Anyhow, I realize I am wearing an absurd amount of Salmon in this post and me likes. Wearing a shirt as a scarf, Converse and self altered skirt. Oh yeah, I got new platform shoes but they are ABSURDLY difficult to walk in. I feel like this post defines what my style mentality is. Colourful, sunshine, prints and awesome lense flare. Peace. I hear it will snow tommorrow. FML.

Neil Patrick Harris kicks ass and I love how he doesn't get typecast into gay characters. Most of the time, the exact opposite. From his acting credentials, he's probably the straightest straight there is. AWESOME. I totally know I'm overusing the caps on this post.

Today, to say modestly, was awesome. This outfit is obviously not from today as people living in Toronto know the hell of the rain this morning. It spackled and crackled and was all noisy and rainy. I loved it personally since I got a ride and didn't have to endure the usual hell of our horrible public transit system. I don't know if that's just my teen angst speaking but I really hate taking the bus everyday. I love the smell of oranges. Anyhow, this jacket is one of those things that I sort of regret buying. I like it in the store, I like it on the way home but as soon as I put it on another day, I hate the fit and realize how it doesn't fit me at all. But, I like this look and I'm beginning to like this jacket even though the cut is difficult to wear. A little awkward. And I'm so glad no one succeeded in talking me out of these pants, they are the comfiest awesomest things ever. And they are orange, who can say that they have orange trousers? Joe Fresh jacket and Aldo bag. OOOOH, I keep forgetting to mention, I GOT THE JOB! At Anthropologie. The Opening Day is in a couple of weeks so make sure you come and check it out. I am soo stoked because the store is like a dream haven and I can't wait to see the unveiling in person. These are two of my favourite looks from the site, they sort of define me. I especially love ths econd one, the layering, the necklace and the shoes and I feel likethe store and I will be a good fit. Colourful, youthful with lots of layers.

I'm really watching Skins a lot, on the second season now. I'm in love with Cassie and I sort of like how the producers want to dump a cast every two seasons, keep things fresh I guess. Cassie talks in this strange lovely way and has such a Lula vibe about her, dressed in odd sorts but always so sweet and pretty. Me likes. And I've picked up an English accent when I talk to myself, sort of funny. I shot these a long while ago and I still didn't put them up until now. Anyhow, just an important question I've got to ask, is there anyone in Toronto willing to model for me? I guess it's a strange sort of question but if I end up pursuing photography, I need a kick ass portfolio and I'm always looking for new sort of people to shoot. If you're interested, email me. I don't know if I should start a photography business since I know I can take photos well (not as well as I'd like but still) and charge a small fee for portraitures. Do tell me what you think and if you'd be interested. Again email or comment! If you want to see my photos, check out the Flickr on the sidebar or click the tag photography at the bottom of this post.

Song of the Day: New Slang---The Shins

This song has a nostalgic feel about it, like I've heard it before. Some songs are like that and like someone commented on Youtube, it's like it's been playing in the background my whole life. There is something so sad and so hopeful at the same time about it.
